Say Goodbye to Leg Spider Veins and Varicose Veins

Leg Vein RemovalNothing makes you more hesitant to put on your favorite swimsuit or pair of shorts than the appearance of purple spider veins, or ropey varicose vessels on your legs.

How can you get rid of them?  Sclerotherapy and Endovenous Laser Treatment correct these problems safely and effectively.

How is it done?

Sclerotherapy  involves injecting a glycerine lidocaine solution directly into the spider vein. Lidocaine makes the treatment comfortable because it numbs the vessel.  The medication scleroses (scars) the spider vein.  Then the body reabsorbs the vessel over time.  Treatment is fast, safe and effective.  Endovenous Laser Treatment offers the best treatment for bulging varicose veins.

Endovenous Laser Treatment involves numbing the area to be treated with a local anesthetic. Then a laser fiber is inserted into the varicose vein.   Laser pulses are delivered through the fiber causing the vein to painlessly collapse. Treatment takes about one hour from set-up to recovery time.  Most people find EVLT to be easy and comfortable.  Many insurances cover assessment and treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Sclerotherapy and EVLT can cause mild swelling and bruising.  Our doctors prescribe compression hose for sclerotherapy, and EVLT patients have their legs wrapped in compression bandages following treatment.  Compression helps to resolve swelling and to keep the patient comfortable post treatment.  Recovery time is fast, and the cosmetic results are excellent.
