Rosacea responds to the “Tone It Down!” procedure
Patients are turning to laser and light therapies to treat annoying rosacea. They want options other than long-term medications, which can cause systemic side effects.
Our doctors treat rosacea with one to three treatments of Broadband Light Source (BBL). This therapy deals with the dilated blood vessels that cause the persistent redness and flushing typical of rosacea. BBL also treats the acne like breakouts that often occur with this condition.
Most people notice immediate improvement after just one treatment. However, we recommend one to three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. To maintain optimal results, additional laser or light treatments may be needed at a later date.
People should not tan before or after treatment. Tanning can worsen symptoms of rosacea, and minimize the impact of BBL. Our nurses will recommend medical grade products to protect and improve your skin throughout the treatment process.
