Fraxel
Dr. VanAntwerp uses Fraxel laser treatment to repair wrinkled and sun damaged skin. This new treatment rebuilds aging skin by passing a laser beam through thousands of microscopic areas in the dermis of your skin. The energy of the laser beam causes drooping collagen to thicken and remodel, wrinkles to disappear, and skin to tighten. This treatment also corrects discolored skin such as age spots and sun spots. You get the results of the more traditional laser facial resurfacing with no loss of work time!
Q: How long does the procedure take?
A: Treatment time alone takes about 60 minutes, but there is a also a 60 minute preparation time. It takes about 60 minutes for the topical anesthetic cream to work.
Q: Will I miss work?
A: No. Fraxel laser treatment is well tolerated, and doesn't involve a long recovery time. It is often referred to as a "lunchtime" procedure.
Q: What does Fraxel laser treat?
A: The Food and Drug Administration found Fraxel laser treatment to be a safe way to treat fine lines and wrinkles, age spots and sun spots.
Q: Does Fraxel laser treatment hurt?
A: Our patients put on a lidocaine cream 60 minutes before treatment to control discomfort. We also have other pain control options to work in tandem with the lidocaine. We aim to give you the best results, and your comfort level is very important to us.
