Moles, Skintags, and certain Skin Cancers

Home » Laser Skin Treatments » Moles, Skintags, and certain Skin Cancers

Moles and skintags are easily removed with the Ultrapulse CO2 laser. Dr. VanAntwerp views all lesions through an operating microscope that allows precise removal of unwanted tissue without damage to surrounding skin. Suspicious lesions or those with a history of change are biopsied before removal. Laser treatment results in no stitches, faster healing, less chance of infection and usually a good cosmetic appearance.

To ensure your comfort, Dr. VanAntwerp numbs the area to be treated with Lidocaine. Most people feel nothing during the procedure. You may resume full activity immediately after treatment and usually a bandage is not even necessary.

Fees are based on clinical diagnosis and are given to the patient before treatment starts. Most insurance companies cover moles that are changing in size, shape, color or failing to heal. Our staff will be happy to call your insurance company to determine your benefits.

Is laser treatment painful?

Most laser treatment is fairly comfortable. Dr. VanAntwerp numbs sensitive areas with lidocaine if necessary.

How much does mole removal cost?

Fees are based on clinical diagnosis, size, and number of lesions being treated. Dr. VanAntwerp will disclose fees prior to treatment.

Does mole removal treatment leave scars?

The laser for mole removal pulses hundreds of times per second. This pulsing action prevents heat damage to the skin and minimizes the risk of scarring. Laser treatment usually gives great cosmetic results.

Will I miss time from work?

No. Usually a bandage is not even necessary. Full activity can be resumed immediately.

Will my insurance cover treatment of mole removal?

Many insurance companies cover this procedure if the mole is changing in size, shape, color, or fails to heal. Our staff will call the insurance company to check on benefits while you are in the office.
